In recent years, HYPOXI has worked closely with women suffering from lipedema, particularly in Germany. An increasing number of doctors have also referred their patients to authorized HYPOXI studios for complementary treatment, having recognized the benefits of this natural approach and the unique effectiveness of the HYPOXI method for this chronic condition.
Nina Blakemore, a stylist and a very well-known plus-size model in Great Britain, worked extremely successfully as a model in photography, catwalk, and television for around 20 years. She was somewhat surprised when she was diagnosed with lipedema in 2014.
Today, Nina is extremely grateful for the lasting support that HYPOXI training provides. Lipedema is a chronic and progressive disorder of the adipose tissue, primarily affecting the lower body. Often called painful fat syndrome, it mainly affects women and is characterized by abnormal fat cell growth. Lipedema can occur at any age, but it most commonly manifests during puberty, pregnancy, or other hormonal changes. An estimated 11% of the female population suffers from some form of lipedema, often without knowing it.
People with lipedema try to manage the condition with special diets, compression therapy, and lymphatic drainage. Some resort to drastic measures such as liposuction.
In 2016, a study using the HYPOXI method yielded outstanding results. This prompted HYPOXI to ask Nina if she would like to participate in further test series.
“In recent years, my lipedema has worsened, and I have increasingly suffered from heavy and painful legs, a condition that has been very taxing on me both physically and emotionally. Now I truly hope that with the help of HYPOXI I can get this painful condition under control.” says Nina.
