"In total, I lost 58,5 cm in circumference on my lower body through HYPOXI."
Karen Windsor, a volunteer with 'Talk Lipoedema', participated in a lipedema study at the HYPOXI-Studio in Chiswick. Karen is very active in raising awareness of this disease.
Now she shares her experiences with us in her own words.
“My name is Karen Windsor, and I was diagnosed with lipedema and other lymphatic disorders. When I started with HYPOXI, I had wonderful experiences with many highs. My only recurring problem was my knees, which unfortunately resulted from years of misdiagnosis.”
This caused me to develop osteoarthritis (joint inflammation - editor's note). During my first HYPOXI treatment, I couldn't bring my knees together because of my lipedema fat (fat deposits), but after a month with HYPOXI, the fat deposits were significantly reduced and, to my delight, I could bring my knees together.
I remember my first day very well, when Maria asked me to bring my knees together. I couldn't do it and until then I thought that was normal. When, a month later, on my measurement day, I was suddenly able to bring my knees together, it was such an overwhelming success for me that I started to cry. Something so mundane was so wonderful for me.
At the beginning, when my weight didn't really change, I was convinced it wasn't working and I monitored everything very closely, including my own methods. Then, on one of my measurement days, I was surprised to find that I had lost over 40 cm in circumference. This was after about 1 ½ months in my HYPOXI program, and I called Maria—again in tears—to thank her for the wonderful opportunity to participate in this study, as it truly was the greatest gift I've ever received. I felt stronger and noticed so many positive changes in my body, which were accompanied by a reduction in pain. I also suffer from fibromyalgia, and I can honestly say that these symptoms have changed significantly. Even my rheumatologist was shocked.
Dorota from the HYPOXI Studio in Chiswick was my coach, my friend, my backbone, and she helped me immensely throughout this journey. I am so grateful to HYPOXI for helping me improve the impact of this condition so significantly. It's not a cure; there is no cure for lipedema, but with HYPOXI, you can definitely turn back the clock. Life is for living, and after 30 surgeries and years of pain, bordering on almost complete immobility and reliance on crutches and supports, I found HYPOXI, which helped me like nothing before. I continue with fascia training, a ketogenic diet, extensive training, and weightlifting. I am convinced that HYPOXI, along with my own methods, has helped me transform my life. My HYPOXI research series is now complete, and I will continue with my own methods, knowing that my metabolism is now optimally stimulated thanks to the intelligent science of HYPOXI. I've had 36 HYPOXI treatments and this is the revelation of my journey. If you'd like to follow my progress, follow me at @kazzzyb_talk_chick.
Since the end of my HYPOXI treatments, I've continued with my own methods, as HYPOXI stimulated my metabolism. In total, I've reduced my lower body circumference by 58,5 cm.HYPOXI has given me a gift, and I am determined to continue my success. If necessary, I will use HYPOXI again one day, but then with the certainty that this treatment works. It is non-invasive, risk-free, and I can have one treatment and then – without any recovery time – continue with my life.
This journey was very emotional for me. Lipedema is a terrible disease that stigmatizes you as overweight or obese and doesn't accept that you have abnormal fat distribution in your body, for which there is now a treatment that helps. Thank you to HYPOXI, thank you to Maria, and thank you to Dorota in Chiswick. You were the best support for me and helped me as friends on this journey.
